3 Things You MUST Know about Why People Buy Stuff
Why do people buy stuff?
Take a minute and think about this question. Really think about it. Think about how you can put your business in front of more clients.
Think about this question with these ideas about the real truth of why people buy stuff:
People only buy what they WANT,
when THEY are ready to buy.
(… not when YOU need to make a sale!)
- Nobody NEEDS anything, especially you or your products & services.
- People only buy what they WANT.
- Nobody cares what YOU think about anything!
- Nobody cares what YOU think they want!
- Nobody cares what YOU think they SHOULD want!
- Worst of all – Nobody cares what YOU think they SHOULD NEED!
Now, if the above is true… if this is really why people buy stuff…
Well, then maybe, just maybe … the ‘great secret’ steps to success are:
1. Find a HOT, HUNGRY niche, or target, market FIRST!
2. Find out EXACTLY what they ALREADY want!
3. Sell them EXACTLY what they ALREADY want!
Step 2 & 3 are fairly simple…but the real magic lies in Step 1.
This is where you gotta spend the time and energy. This is where it comes down to your success or failure.
Two thoughts on the magic of Step 1…
First, take a good, hard, close look at your past clients, especially your most profitable clients.
Then next, you gotta look inside yourself at your own passions and the strengths of you and your business team, and determine if your past clients and profitable projects/engagements line up with your passions and strengths.
And then you have to ask yourself…
“Do I really like these people?
And, do I want to build a business around selling stuff to these people?
Once you can answer those 2 questions, then you can move on to steps 2 & 3.
